Han Lo-ro to release remake of Japanese classic 'A Cruel Angel's Thesis'

South Korean singer-songwriter Han Lo-ro is set to release her reinterpretation of the renowned Japanese song 'A Cruel Angel's Thesis' on July 30. This rendition is part of the 'J-POP REMAKE' project, which seeks to infuse classic Japanese music with the distinct artistic colors of South Korean musicians.

A special clip teaser video released on July 29 offered a glimpse into Han Lo-ro's upcoming track. The video showcased her collaborating with band members, hinting at a rich band sound and delicate emotional expression that promises to build anticipation for the remake.

Originally released in 1995 by Yoko Takahashi, 'A Cruel Angel's Thesis' has remained a beloved anthem in Japanese animation and a J-pop classic for nearly three decades. Han Lo-ro's version aims to preserve the original's explosive energy and grand atmosphere while adding her signature delicate vocal tone and profound emotional depth.

The second track of the 'J-POP REMAKE' project, 'A Cruel Angel's Thesis,' will be released on various music sites at 6 p.m. on the 30th.

The project, conceptualized by singer and entertainer Kangnam, focuses on reinterpreting era-defining Japanese masterpieces through the lens of contemporary Korean artists. Han Lo-ro's interpretation is expected to harmonize restrained arrangements with emotive vocals, offering a fresh resonance to the familiar masterpiece.
