Handball Association President Kwak No-jung congratulates U-20 Asian Championship winning team SK Hynix

Kwak No-jung, who leads both the Korea Handball Federation and SK Hynix, hosted the victorious U-20 national handball team at the company's headquarters. The team recently clinched the 19th Asian Men's Junior (U-20) Handball Championship title.

The national team, under the guidance of coach Park Hyun-jong, achieved their championship win in dramatic fashion. In the final match held in Chuzhou, China, they staged a late comeback to defeat the United Arab Emirates 25-24. This victory marks their return to the top of Asian handball after an eight-year hiatus.

I hope this winning energy will be passed on to the senior players participating in the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games in September.

During the celebration at SK Hynix's Icheon headquarters, Kwak No-jung praised the team's fighting spirit. He highlighted their triumph over strong competitors from Japan and the Middle East, culminating in a thrilling final comeback that deeply moved handball fans. He expressed hope that this winning momentum would carry over to the senior national teams competing in the upcoming Asian Games.

Coach Park Hyun-jong attributed the success to the team's unity and the federation's support. He pledged that the team would continue to develop and repay the public's support with improved performances. Following the official reception, the young athletes toured SK Hynix's semiconductor fabrication plant and shared a celebratory meal at a nearby restaurant.
