Handball: Füchse Berlin lose test match to Barcelona

Füchse Berlin suffered another defeat against FC Barcelona, losing a test match 35:39 just nine weeks after their Champions League final loss to the Spanish powerhouse. The preparation game, held as part of the HSG Premium Cup in Nordhorn, saw the German Bundesliga team largely outmatched by the serial champions.

The match began at a high tempo, but the teams soon diverged. Füchse Berlin struggled with numerous technical errors, which Barcelona exploited ruthlessly. Goalkeeper Sergey Hernandez, a former Magdeburg player, proved a formidable obstacle for the German side, while Füchse's Lasse Ludwig had difficulty making saves.

Despite periods of improvement in the second half, where Berlin managed to narrow the deficit to three goals, they could not overcome Barcelona's lead. Coach Nicolej Krickau expressed satisfaction with the test, stating, "It was a test as expected. We wanted to try things out, and we did."

Füchse Berlin has one more test match scheduled against Danish top club GOG before their official season kicks off with the Supercup against champions SC Magdeburg on Saturday.
