Hanoi Youth promoted to professional league for second time under coach Pham Minh Duc

Coach Pham Minh Duc has once again guided Hanoi Youth to professional football, securing promotion to the Vietnam National First Division for the 2026-2027 season. This achievement mirrors his success in 2017 when he led a previous iteration of the team, then known as Hanoi B, to promotion. That earlier squad featured players like Bui Hoang Viet Anh and Pham Tuan Hai, who have since become key figures in Vietnam's top leagues and the national team.

The latest promotion was clinched after a 3-1 victory over Truong Giang Gia Dinh in the National Second Division 2026 finals. Goals from Nguyen Dinh Thinh, Nguyen Anh Tu, and Nguyen Tien Dat sealed the win and the coveted promotion spot. This success highlights the ongoing development of young talent within Hanoi's football system.

Duc expressed his hopes that the current promising generation of players, some of whom have participated in the U19 Southeast Asia Championship and U17 Asian Cup, will develop to contribute significantly to Hanoi FC and Vietnam's national teams. He specifically mentioned players like Dau Hong Phong and Nguyen Thien Phu as key talents. The coach credited the team's determination and the support from " bầu Hiển" (Mr. Hien) for their performance.

Hanoi Youth will share the championship title for the National Second Division 2026 with the winner of another match, as the tournament does not have a single champion. The team awaits the outcome of the Lam Dong vs. Hue game to determine their final standing. Truong Giang Gia Dinh will compete for the final promotion spot against the loser of that match.
