Haszard Range avalanche carries skier 15 metres after group bunches at turn

A ski touring group triggered an avalanche in the remote Haszard Range near Lake Tekapo, carrying one skier 15 metres from the group.

The three skiers were near a ridge on the South Island sub-mountain range when they bunched together at a kick turn. The incident involved a slab avalanche.

All three tourers escaped injury, according to the report.
