Haus Community Summit 2026 Asks How Real Estate Can Create Lasting Places

A new real-estate question is moving beyond location and floor area: what makes a project somewhere people want to remain connected to, while creating value that lasts for future generations? Haus Community Summit 2026 will place that question at the center of its Sept. 9-10 program in Ho Chi Minh City.

Titled “Back to School,” the summit will not follow a conventional conference format built around presentations. It will be organized as a return to the classroom, using experience from major cities, prominent buildings and international spaces as material for a discussion about Vietnam’s future places to live.

Its four-part “curriculum” follows the creation of a place. Planning establishes a long-term structure. Architecture creates a relationship with the site. Interiors turn space into a personal experience. Operations and user experience determine whether those values continue after construction ends. The summit’s premise is that no single discipline can provide the entire answer.

Carlo Negri, Sweco’s international director for architecture and urban planning, will discuss how cities can balance people, nature, resources and adaptability across generations. Byunghwa Kim, chief project manager at Kengo Kuma & Associates’ Tokyo office, will discuss architecture’s dialogue with nature, materials and local culture, including its application to HAUS Da Lat. Akira Kita and Tomas Jaramillo of 1508 London will address personalized interior design, drawing on the firm’s residential and hospitality work.

The program also points to projects such as Vienna’s Seestadt Aspern, planned by Sweco and associated with the city receiving the 2020 Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize. The summit arrives as Hanoi’s primary apartment market recorded only 68% absorption in the second quarter of 2026, while buyers have become more selective amid market volatility and high capital costs.
