HBO Max to join Cellcom TV+, offering new shows as Israeli streaming competition grows

Israeli telecommunications company Cellcom announced a new partnership with HBO Max, integrating the streaming service into its Cellcom TV+ platform. This expansion is part of a summer promotion designed to attract and retain customers in Israel's increasingly competitive streaming market.

New subscribers signing up for Cellcom's fiber-optic internet and TV+ package will receive the HBO Max Standard plan for NIS 99 per month for the first three months. Existing Cellcom TV+ subscribers can add HBO Max at no extra charge for their initial three months. The promotion aims to provide value during the summer vacation and Jewish holiday season, periods when household expenses often increase.

Cellcom's offering will include popular HBO dramas like "House of the Dragon" and "The Last of Us," along with Warner Bros. Discovery films and series. The library also features international hits such as "Friends" and "The Big Bang Theory," as well as content from the Harry Potter and DC brands. Upcoming titles like the "Big Bang Theory" spin-off "Stuart Fails to Save the Universe" and DC Studios’ "Lanterns" are also highlighted.

The connection with HBO Max is a direct continuation of the launch of Cellcom TV+.

Michal Betzer, Cellcom's chief marketing officer, stated that the HBO Max partnership is a continuation of the company's investment in its television technology and content library. Cellcom aims to enhance the viewing experience by offering programming from leading international studios. In addition to HBO Max, Cellcom TV+ will add several exclusive series in August, including the Canadian hockey comedy "Shoresy," the British comedy-drama "Flowers," and the third season of Taylor Sheridan’s thriller "Lioness." The service will also feature the second season of "Poker Face" and "Boston Blue."

The integration of HBO Max follows Cellcom's recent upgrades to its Cellcom TV+ interface and its Ultra Live broadcasting technology, which was developed to reduce delays in live event broadcasts, notably during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
