Health minister orders transfer of absent pharmacist during surprise hospital visit

Health Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Husain has ordered the immediate transfer of a pharmacist who was absent from duty during a surprise visit to Habiganj 250-bed District Sadar Hospital. The minister made an unannounced visit to the hospital this afternoon, inspecting various departments and speaking with patients.

During his inspection, the minister found pharmacist Reagan Hossain absent from his post, leading to the order for his immediate transfer. Minister Sakhawat also voiced his disappointment with the hospital's overall cleanliness, noting that its hygiene standards were below those of hospitals in other districts. He instructed the relevant authorities to take greater responsibility for maintaining a clean environment throughout the facility.

In other health-related matters, Sakhawat announced that a nationwide measles vaccination campaign will recommence in three weeks. He urged parents to be vigilant about measles prevention and to ensure their children receive vaccinations on schedule. The minister also emphasized the importance of maternal attention to children's nutrition, encouraging mothers to provide adequate milk and food for their children's well-being.
