Heat and rain: weather forecast for Kazakhstan on July 14

Kazakhstan is bracing for a day of volatile weather on July 14, with a mix of extreme heat, scattered showers, and thunderstorms predicted across various regions. Residents are advised to prepare for challenging conditions, including potential dust storms and strong winds in some areas.

In the capital, Astana, the forecast indicates partly cloudy skies with scattered showers and thunderstorms. The day will be marked by strong south-easterly winds, increasing to 9–14 m/s with gusts up to 23 m/s. Daytime temperatures are expected to soar, reaching extreme highs of 37–39°C, while nighttime temperatures will hover around 20–22°C.

Almaty and its surrounding mountainous areas will also experience scattered showers and thunderstorms. Winds will be easterly at 3–8 m/s, gusting up to 13 m/s. Daytime temperatures will reach 32–34°C, with cooler temperatures of 10–15°C in the mountains at night. The Ile Alatau mountains could see heavy rain and hail.

Shymkent faces the brunt of the heat, with forecasts predicting extreme temperatures of 39–41°C during the day. The region will experience north-westerly winds at 8–13 m/s, with gusts up to 20 m/s, and partly cloudy skies with no precipitation expected.

Other regions, including Akmola, Almaty, Konaev, Zhetysu, and Turkestan, will also see a range of weather phenomena. Akmola Region can expect rain, thunderstorms, hail, squalls, and dust storms, with daytime highs reaching 34–39°C. Zhetysu Region anticipates short-term rain and thunderstorms, with extreme heat up to 40°C in some areas. Turkestan Region expects no precipitation but strong winds and high temperatures.
