Storm warning issued across Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan is bracing for severe weather conditions as extreme heat and strong winds sweep across the country. Daytime temperatures are forecast to soar, reaching as high as 42 degrees Celsius in the Turkestan Region. This intense heat, coupled with dry conditions, has led to a high or extreme fire hazard in several areas, including Shymkent, Zhetysu Region, Karaganda Region, Ulytau Region, Aktobe Region, and Turkestan Region.

In addition to the heat, strong north-easterly winds are expected in many parts of the country, with gusts reaching 15-20 meters per second and occasionally up to 23-28 m/s in the Zhetysu Region. These winds are contributing to the fire risk and creating challenging conditions.

Weather alerts also indicate the possibility of rain, thunderstorms, and hail in the western and northern regions, including Mangystau and Aktobe. Squalls and heavy rain are forecast in some areas, while a dust storm is expected in western and northern Turkestan. Residents are advised to stay informed about the evolving weather situation.
