Heating season approaches as new LEA heat-pump subsidy round offers refunds of up to 90%

With the heating season approaching, Lithuania is preparing another round of support for residents who want to replace polluting boilers with air-to-water heat pumps. The next call opens on October 1, and Ecoenergija.lt is urging prospective applicants to start choosing equipment and preparing documents now.

The company says subsidies can cover as much as 90% of the price of an eligible heat pump. It offers consultations, assistance with the compensation paperwork and installment arrangements. Under one financing option, a €1,000 purchase can be paid over 10 months at €100 per month without an added cost.

Air-to-water heat pumps can heat underfloor systems and radiators while also supplying hot water. The equipment can be controlled remotely and maintain a steady indoor temperature, which the company presents as a simpler alternative to handling firewood, cleaning chimneys and managing ash or fuel loading.

The company says newer models can produce hot water at up to 75°C, making them suitable for homes heated with radiators as well as newer or renovated buildings. Applications are open to property owners seeking to replace boilers that use firewood, pellets, peat or sawdust briquettes, natural gas, diesel heating oil, coal or other polluting fuels. The article also notes that applicants do not have to remove their old boiler.

Ecoenergija.lt chief executive Gintautas Liutkus said customers often appreciate the system’s convenience and the option to pay in installments. He said the company works with leasing partners to make the technology more accessible and supports customers through the process until compensation is paid.
