Heavy Rain Advisory Issued for 5 Counties and Cities Due to Low-Pressure System

Taiwan's Meteorological Administration issued a heavy rain advisory early this morning for five areas: Taichung, Nantou, Chiayi County, Tainan, and Kaohsiung. The advisories are in effect due to a low-pressure system influencing the island.

The weather agency explained that the low-pressure system is likely to cause short-duration, intense rainfall. Localized heavy rain is expected in the mountainous regions of Taichung, Nantou, and Chiayi through Kaohsiung today. Residents in these mountainous areas are urged to be cautious of potential landslides and falling rocks. Additionally, low-lying areas are advised to prepare for possible water accumulation and flooding.
