Heavy rainfall predicted in few places across Nepal

Nepal is bracing for significant rainfall as the Meteorological Forecasting Division issued warnings for heavy downpours in multiple regions. Hilly areas across Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim Provinces are expected to experience substantial precipitation.

The forecast indicates moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning across most of the country's hilly terrain and in some parts of the Tarai region. The situation is particularly concerning for the Tarai belt of Koshi Province and certain areas of Madhes Province, where the possibility of storms has been highlighted.

Currently, the monsoon wind is actively influencing Nepal's weather patterns. The monsoon's low-pressure belt is positioned near the country, contributing to the widespread rainfall observed, especially in the western parts of Nepal. The division also noted that some mountainous areas could see light to moderate rainfall or snowfall, along with thunderstorms.

Tonight, the forecast suggests continued moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning in several places within Madhes Province. Similar weather conditions are anticipated in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim Provinces, indicating a widespread period of unsettled weather across the nation.
