Heavy Rains Disrupt Mexico City Metro Line A Service; RTP Provides Support

Heavy rains have significantly disrupted service on Line A of the Mexico City Metro, forcing a partial suspension due to water flooding the tracks. The eastern part of the city was particularly affected by the downpour.

Adrián Rubalcava, director of the Metro system, announced that trains are operating provisionally between Pantitlán and Guelatao. Service between Guelatao and La Paz remains suspended. This situation is causing considerable inconvenience for thousands of daily commuters.

To mitigate the impact, units from the Passenger Transport Network (RTP) are providing support, transporting users along the affected stretch from Guelatao to Santa Martha. Meanwhile, Metro personnel are actively working with pumping equipment to clear the accumulated water from the tracks.

The goal is to safely restore full circulation on Line A as soon as possible. The Calzada Ignacio Zaragoza, a major thoroughfare, is also reported to be severely flooded, compounding transportation challenges in the area.
