Hero of Labor of Kyrgyzstan Omurzak Mamayusupov Dies at 73

Omurzak Mamayusupov, a distinguished educator and public figure, has passed away at the age of 73. Known as a Hero of Labor of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mamayusupov was a candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, a professor, and an honored teacher.

He gained widespread recognition as the founder and long-time head of the "Nookat Bilimkanasy" lyceum-boarding school, which is considered one of the country's leading educational institutions. Many of its graduates have achieved success in national and international olympiads, and the lyceum itself has been repeatedly ranked among Kyrgyzstan's top schools.

In addition to his contributions to education, Mamayusupov was involved in public and state activities, serving as a deputy in the Legislative Assembly of the Jogorku Kenesh. For his dedication to developing education and nurturing young specialists, he received several state awards. In 2024, he was awarded the highest distinction of the Kyrgyz Republic, the title "Emgek Baatyry" (Hero of Labor), and previously received the "Dank" medal.
