Hessen braces for return of heatwave with temperatures set to exceed 30 degrees Celsius

Residents of Hessen, Germany, are bracing for a significant heatwave expected to arrive next week, with temperatures predicted to climb well above 30 degrees Celsius. The region is currently experiencing moderate summer weather, with current maximum temperatures ranging between 26 and 31 degrees, accompanied by scattered showers in some areas, according to the German Weather Service (DWD).

A brief respite from the heat is anticipated on Monday, when temperatures are forecast to cool down slightly, reaching a maximum of 23 to 28 degrees Celsius. Showers may also occur in the northern parts of the Main river region before subsiding in the evening. However, this cooler spell is expected to be short-lived.

By mid-week, temperatures are set to rise sharply again. Tuesday is predicted to be sunny with highs between 29 and 33 degrees Celsius and dry conditions. The DWD forecasts that Wednesday will be hot to very hot, with meteorologists expecting maximum temperatures to range from 34 to 37 degrees Celsius, under widespread sunshine.
