Hira's First Homer Ends Kiwoom's 8-Game Skid; SSG Falls to 13th Straight Loss

The Kiwoom Heroes have finally emerged from their slump, snapping an eight-game losing streak with a decisive 12-6 victory over the SSG Landers. The win came at the expense of the Landers, who saw their own losing streak extend to a grim 13 games, marking a new team record for consecutive losses, including their previous SK Wyverns era.

A key moment in the game was the first KBO home run by Kiwoom's new foreign slugger, Keshon Hira. In the top of the third inning, with the score tied 1-1 and a runner on second, Hira launched a two-run homer off SSG starter Anthony Benitez. This ignited Kiwoom's offense, which added five more runs in the seventh inning, securing their much-needed win. Starting pitcher Raoul Alcantara earned his fifth win of the season, pitching seven innings and allowing three runs.

In other KBO action, league leaders LG Twins continued their strong performance, crushing the KT Wiz 10-1. The Twins hit four home runs in the game, with Austin Dean reaching a personal milestone by hitting his 100th career home run. Doosan Bears also secured a victory, defeating the Hanwha Eagles 5-3, thanks to home runs from Kang Seung-ho and Jung Soo-bin, and a solid pitching performance from starter Wes Benjamin.
