Ho Central MP supports JHS graduates with learning materials

The Member of Parliament for Ho Central, Richmond Edem Kpotosu, has provided mattresses, rubber boxes and learning materials to 254 Junior High School graduates preparing to begin secondary education.

At a ceremony in Ho, Kpotosu said the assistance formed part of his development agenda to promote education in the constituency. He said the items would be distributed to beneficiaries in batches and encouraged the students to use educational opportunities to prepare for responsible adulthood.

He also promoted technical and vocational education, saying he had started skills-training programmes alongside government youth initiatives. The Ho Municipal Director of Education, Esther Yeboah-Adzimah, welcomed the support but cautioned students against drug abuse, stealing and early sexual activity.

Yeboah-Adzimah said secondary education was free, but the Free SHS policy did not cover every student requirement. She urged parents to keep supporting their children and advised the graduates to study hard and justify the investment made in their education.
