Ho Chi Minh City Hospitals Sign Cooperation Deal to Boost Medical Services

Two prominent medical institutions in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, have formalized a collaboration to elevate healthcare services. The University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City (UMC) and Hong Bang International University Hospital (HIU Hospital) signed a memorandum of understanding on July 30th, aiming to enhance medical expertise and patient care.

The memorandum of understanding covers the coordination in developing specialist clinics, professional support, and the transfer of specialized techniques in fields such as interventional cardiology, thoracic - vascular surgery, digestive - hepatobiliary surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedic trauma, urology, pathological anatomy, endoscopy, and diagnostic imaging.

The agreement focuses on strengthening professional capabilities, optimizing diagnostic and treatment processes, and ensuring patient safety. Key areas of cooperation include developing specialist clinics and facilitating the transfer of advanced techniques in fields such as interventional cardiology, thoracic and vascular surgery, digestive and hepatobiliary surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedic trauma, urology, pathology, endoscopy, and diagnostic imaging.

Both hospitals will work together to build specialized departments, improve patient referral systems based on treatment needs, and conduct continuous training and academic exchanges. HIU Hospital will be integrated into UMC's referral network, enabling patients to be transferred when necessary.

HIU Hospital expects to gradually enhance its examination and treatment capabilities, standardize professional processes, and promote expert exchange and professional connections in relevant fields.

He noted that HIU Hospital, equipped with modern facilities, is focused on building its human resources and professional capacity. He believes this collaboration will provide a crucial foundation for the hospital's stable development and improved service quality.
