Ho Chi Minh City Launches Family Day Competition Promoting Law and Domestic Violence Prevention

Ho Chi Minh City is hosting a series of events to commemorate Vietnam Family Day and promote a culture of strong, healthy family units. The Department of Culture and Sports has organized a competition focused on family law and the prevention of domestic violence, coinciding with the national action month against domestic violence.

Vo Trong Nam, deputy director of the Department and head of the organizing committee, highlighted the enduring positive values of Vietnamese families. The competition, under the theme "Happy Family," seeks to emphasize the responsibility of various sectors in building families that are prosperous, equal, progressive, happy, and civilized. It also aims to enhance child welfare and education, foster inter-family exchange, and showcase unique local family traditions.

He stressed the importance of building happy families that balance material and spiritual well-being, ensuring harmony within families, communities, and society. This effort contributes to building a happy nation and a civilized, modern, and compassionate Ho Chi Minh City.

The competition features three rounds: an introduction, a legal knowledge quiz, and a situational problem-solving segment. These are designed to be practical, addressing issues such as gender equality, child protection, the role of the elderly, and creating safe living environments. The events are being held in three locations across the region from June 11 to June 17, with the final awards ceremony scheduled for June 24.
