Ho Chi Minh City Police Stage Drug-Use Scenario to Warn Factory Workers

Ho Chi Minh City police used plates, flour and other props to stage a simulated drug-use scene for factory workers, choosing a visual demonstration over a purely theoretical warning.

The demonstration took place on September 6 at Tan Tao Industrial Park during the city’s second “Workers with the Law and Security and Public Order Day” of the year. About 500 workers from trade unions at export-processing and industrial parks attended.

The city police department’s drug crime investigation unit presented the “Say No to Drugs” session. Officers used a hypothetical situation to show how drugs can appear in ordinary social gatherings and seemingly casual invitations. They warned workers not to try drugs, even once, and outlined the risks of being persuaded to use, possess or transport them.

The session also addressed synthetic drugs and substances disguised as food, drinks, electronic cigarettes or other stimulants. Workers received information on signs of illegal drug use, the responsibilities of individuals and businesses, and common methods used to recruit factory workers into drug-related violations.

Other sessions focused on cybersecurity and traffic safety. The cybercrime unit discussed online traps, scams and ways to protect personal information, under the message “Listen to know AI, because you are not alone.” Traffic police showed videos of crashes and dangerous road situations, then used a group quiz to review traffic rules, risky violations, safe driving and blind-spot awareness.
