Ho Chi Minh City to host fireworks, 3D Mapping for 50th anniversary

Ho Chi Minh City is set to host a series of vibrant events to commemorate the 50th anniversary of its renaming in honor of President Ho Chi Minh on July 2, 2026. The celebrations will include a spectacular fireworks display at 16 locations across the city and an international 3D Mapping art show.

The fireworks are scheduled to illuminate the night sky from 9:00 PM to 9:15 PM on July 2. Five of the display points will feature both high and low-altitude fireworks, while the remaining eleven will focus on low-altitude displays. Complementing the fireworks, an international 3D Mapping performance will captivate audiences nightly from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM between July 1 and July 5, in front of the City Hall.

A special televised event marking the 50th anniversary will also take place on July 2. This program will feature main broadcast points at the Reunification Hall in Ho Chi Minh City and Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi, with additional satellite locations in various wards and special zones of the city.

Authorities are anticipating large crowds for these events and have issued guidance for attendees. Recommended viewing spots for the fireworks and 3D Mapping include Nguyen Hue Walking Street and the area along Ton Duc Thang Street. For those seeking a less crowded experience, vantage points from Thu Thiem Urban Area or high-rise cafes and restaurants are suggested. Visitors are advised to arrive early to avoid traffic restrictions and congestion, and to use designated parking facilities to prevent overcharging.
