Ho Chi Minh City to recruit talent, reorganize state firms under new development plan

Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary Tran Luu Quang has underscored the critical need for skilled personnel to drive the city's ambitious development agenda, as outlined in the Politburo's Resolution 09. Addressing a conference on June 6, Quang directly questioned who would be responsible for bringing the resolution to life, emphasizing that this task falls upon all city officials and party members. He highlighted that the effectiveness of implementing the resolution hinges on the capabilities of the city's workforce and the efficiency of its organizational structure.

Quang asserted that building a competent and specialized team, coupled with a streamlined organizational apparatus, is paramount for ensuring the city's performance. He revealed the city's current approach to personnel management involves selecting the most suitable individuals for specific roles, ensuring accurate and objective evaluations of officials, and proactively preparing talent for future leadership positions. The city leadership is committed to addressing existing issues and setting an example in cadre management, with many officials having already changed positions since the beginning of the term.

Looking ahead, Quang indicated that further personnel changes are expected, driven by the principle of placing the right person in the right job. Quang affirmed that while personnel transfers between departments may be challenging, they are necessary for the collective benefit and effective job execution. He assured that contributions of officials would be recognized, and appropriate policies would be implemented to honor their service.

Furthermore, Ho Chi Minh City intends to establish recruitment mechanisms to attract talented individuals into its system. Quang tasked the Party Committee's Organization Department and the Department of Home Affairs with identifying promising students and potential recruits. The city may offer scholarships to support these individuals, signaling a proactive approach to building a strong future workforce.
