Holcim Argentina receives $63 million capital boost

Holcim Argentina has received a significant financial boost of US$63 million from its parent company, Holcim Investments, a Madrid-based entity controlled by the Swiss giant Holcim.

The capital injection, formalized on June 9, is earmarked for settling current account overdrafts with local financial institutions. This move aims to reduce the company's financial costs and strengthen its cash position. The funds will also support ongoing working capital investments, new projects, and existing financial obligations.

the acceptance of the contribution is convenient in order to reduce the financial costs that the company currently has, in a context in which the construction market in Argentina has not reached the projected recovery levels during the year 2025 and the elapsed part of the current fiscal year, in a scenario of inflation increase above the evolution of sector prices and, considering that, other financing alternatives available to the company present less favorable conditions.

This financial reinforcement arrives at a critical juncture for Holcim Argentina. The company reported a net loss of 3.839 billion Argentine pesos in the first quarter of 2026, facing cost pressures and financial results impacted by high inflation. The construction market in Argentina has not met projected recovery levels in 2025 and the current year.

Despite these market challenges, Holcim maintains an ambitious expansion strategy in Argentina. The company has invested over US$300 million in the country over the past decade, significantly diversifying its product portfolio. In late 2025, Holcim inaugurated a new concrete plant in Zárate, Buenos Aires, as part of its ongoing commitment to expanding its operations within the country.
