Hollywood Stars Align for Maserati Brothers Biopic, Set for 2026 Release

The world of cinema eagerly anticipates "Maserati: The Brothers," a biographical drama poised to celebrate the iconic Italian automotive dynasty. The project has garnered significant attention with the announcement that Oscar winners Anthony Hopkins and Andy Garcia will be joined by the acclaimed Al Pacino.

Pacino is slated to portray Vincenzo Vaccara, a shrewd businessman and early investor in the Maserati family's vision. Hopkins will also take on the role of an early supporter, while Jessica Alba and Italian stars Michele Morrone (as Alfieri Maserati), Salvatore Esposito (as Bindo), and Lorenzo De Moor (as Carlo Maserati) complete the ensemble. The film is directed by Robert Moresco, an Oscar winner for the screenplay of "Crash."

Diane Warren, a celebrated songwriter with 17 Oscar nominations, has contributed an original song to the project. The narrative centers on a pivotal period in the Maserati family's rise, focusing on their relentless pursuit of an almost impossible goal: becoming the first Italian automaker to win the prestigious and perilous Indianapolis 500 race. They achieved this feat twice, in 1939 and 1940, etching their names into motorsport history.

To ensure historical accuracy, filming is taking place at authentic locations in Modena and Bologna, Italy's automotive heartlands, as well as the renowned Cinecittà studios in Rome. The production team has meticulously recreated 60 cars from the 1920s and 1930s, including the legendary Tipo 26, Maserati's first true racing car. Producer Andrea Iervolino, known for films like "Lamborghini: The Man Who Made the Legend," continues his focus on Italian automotive icons. A film about Ettore Bugatti is also planned, rounding out a series celebrating Italian engineering genius.

The story of Maserati began humbly, fueled by a passion for mechanics instilled by their father, Rodolfo. Six of his seven sons shared this drive, leading to names that would become synonymous with speed, elegance, and innovation. The film is scheduled for release in the fall of 2026.
