Homemade Signs Warn Drivers of 'Fucking Holes' on Poorly Maintained Finnish Road

A road in Sastamala, Finland, has become so dilapidated that local residents have resorted to erecting homemade signs to warn drivers of its hazardous condition. The signs, placed along Kutalantie, feature a blunt message: "Varo vitullisia reikiä," which translates to "Watch out for fucking holes."

The poor state of the road has led to damage for at least one resident, Kari Saari, whose car tires were reportedly broken due to the road's condition. Saari has been actively highlighting the issue, even moving one of the signs closer to the road for better visibility.

Despite numerous calls to the Finnish Transport Agency's "Tienkäyttäjän linja" (Road User Line), no maintenance has been carried out on Kutalantie. The road was last graded in the autumn, but this appears to have been insufficient to address the severity of the potholes.

This is not the first time the road's condition has drawn attention. Local newspaper Tyrvään Sanomat previously reported on a similar sign last autumn, suggesting a persistent problem that authorities have yet to adequately resolve. The crude signage underscores the frustration of residents dealing with the neglected infrastructure.
