Homeplus reopens 67 stores after securing emergency funds; suppliers receive 5.4 trillion won in relief

Homeplus is resuming operations at 67 of its stores following the successful procurement of 200 billion won in emergency funding. This financial injection has enabled the retail giant to restart business activities and address immediate operational needs. Concurrently, Homeplus has implemented significant financial relief for its supply chain partners, arranging 5.4 trillion won in maturity extensions and deferrals. This measure aims to stabilize its network of suppliers during a challenging period. Government ministries, including the Ministry of Economy and Finance, convened to assess the progress of these support initiatives for both employees and business partners. The review focused on the implementation of measures designed to assist workers and small and medium-sized suppliers affected by the company's financial situation. Since March 4 of last year, Homeplus employees have received a total of 35.9 billion won in unemployment benefits and wage advance payments across 24,648 cases.
