Honda Refreshes N-BOX JOY Crossover, Launches Blacked-Out 'Black Style' Edition

Honda has officially unveiled a refreshed version of its N-BOX JOY crossover in Japan, enhancing its competitive edge with updated styling and a new "Black Style" special edition. This new variant boasts a striking all-black design, aiming to capture attention and challenge rivals like the Mitsubishi Delica Mini.

The N-BOX JOY Black Style features a distinctive dark-themed exterior. Key updates include a HONDA-emblazoned grille, previously an optional extra, and the addition of LED front fog lights. The rear Honda emblems, model nameplate, lower rear bumper, and 14-inch wheel covers are all finished in gloss black. Combined with existing black side mirrors, door handles, and roof, the blacked-out design amplifies the crossover's rugged, outdoorsy appeal.

Beyond its exterior enhancements, the Black Style's interior also embraces the dark aesthetic. The seats are designed with a checkered pattern that is both stylish and resistant to dirt, ideal for outdoor use. They can also fold flat to create a double bed. Furthermore, the vehicle offers enhanced spatial functionality through optional Honda Access accessories, such as ceiling straps, side hooks, and versatile storage nets, making it a practical choice for outdoor living and camping.

Under the hood, the N-BOX JOY is powered by a 0.66-liter naturally aspirated or turbocharged gasoline engine, available in both front-wheel (FF) and four-wheel drive (4WD) configurations. The naturally aspirated engine produces 58 horsepower and 6.6 kg-m of torque, while the turbocharged version delivers 64 horsepower and 10.6 kg-m of torque. Both are paired with a CVT transmission. The updated N-BOX JOY, with its Black Style variant starting at 2.3859 million yen (approximately 476,000 NT dollars), is poised to make a strong bid against its main competitor, the Delica Mini.
