Honda's Electric Hatchback Becomes a Surprise Hit, Surpassing Sales Target

Honda's new sporty electric hatchback, the Super-ONE, has become a surprise hit in Japan, surpassing its annual sales goal just two months after its launch. The company announced that it has received over 11,000 orders for the vehicle, significantly exceeding its initial target of 10,000 units for the year. This strong reception injects confidence into Honda's electric vehicle development strategy.

Positioned as a sportier evolution of the N-ONE e:, the Super-ONE boasts a design inspired by the Super EV Concept. It features pronounced fender flares that create a wider, more aggressive stance, complemented by a redesigned front bumper with vertical air ducts for a dynamic appearance. The car also sports 15-inch aerodynamic multi-spoke wheels and a rear spoiler, enhancing its sporty aesthetic.

Inside, the Super-ONE offers a unique cabin ambiance with newly designed sports seats upholstered in a suede-like material with distinctive white, black, and blue accents. A premium BOSE sound system is standard, promising an elevated auditory experience for occupants. The interior design elements are tailored to reinforce the car's sporty character.

Under the hood, the Super-ONE features a single-motor front-wheel-drive configuration. It delivers a standard output of 64 horsepower, which can be boosted to 94 horsepower in BOOST mode. The car incorporates features like simulated gear shifts and an active sound system to enhance the driving sensation. Combined with its lightweight construction at just 1,090 kg, Honda aims to deliver an engaging and fun driving experience, consistent with the brand's reputation for enjoyable handling.
