Honda's New Fit Arrives Early July with Major Model Adjustments and Exclusive Styling

Honda is set to launch a revamped Fit hatchback on July 9, introducing substantial changes to its model lineup and design. The Japanese automaker aims to enhance the Fit's appeal with updated features and a more diverse range of trims.

The upcoming Fit will see a significant overhaul of its model structure. The existing Basic, Home, Luxe, Crosstar, and RS variants will be replaced by X, Z, Crosstar, and RS. The gasoline-only options will be streamlined to just the X and Z models, while the e:HEV hybrid powertrain will offer more choices. Pricing is expected to range from 1,806,200 to 2,899,600 Japanese yen (approximately $11,500 to $18,500 USD).

Key equipment upgrades include a new two-spoke steering wheel, heat-insulating front windows, and heated steering wheel as standard. The Z model will adopt a sportier RS grille and feature dual front seat heating. Higher trims will offer an optional 9-inch infotainment system with navigation, blind-spot monitoring, and a rearview camera.

Powertrain options remain unchanged, with a 1.5-liter engine delivering 18.7 km/liter (approx. 44 mpg) fuel efficiency and the e:HEV system achieving up to 30.2 km/liter (approx. 71 mpg). Honda Sensing driver assistance suite will be standard on all models. Meanwhile, a next-generation Fit is reportedly in development, promising larger dimensions, a more aggressive exterior design, and an improved hybrid system with an estimated fuel economy of 32.5 km/liter (approx. 76 mpg).
