Honduran bishops express solidarity with Colombia, call for hope after earthquake

The Episcopal Conference of Honduras (CEH) conveyed its solidarity with the Colombian people after a powerful magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck the country's central and southwestern regions. In a message to Archbishop Francisco Javier Múnera Correa, president of the Colombian Episcopal Conference, the CEH expressed deep sorrow upon hearing the news and offered fraternal closeness.

Our prayers and our closeness accompany you," the message concluded. The CEH entrusted Colombia to the "intercession of Our Lady of Chiquinquirá" and asked God to "rekindle hope and grant strength" to Colombians to rise and move forward as a united and faithful people.
