Honest student returns lost wallet with over 10 million dong

An act of honesty by an 8th-grade student in Dong Nai, Vietnam, has led to the return of a lost wallet containing a substantial sum of money and important documents. Mai Thị Thu Hiền, a 13-year-old student at Phước Bình Secondary School, discovered the wallet while on her way to the market on June 20.

Hiền immediately took the white wallet, which held a large amount of cash along with identification cards, to the Phước Bình Ward Police. She expressed her desire for the police to help locate and return the lost property to its rightful owner. The wallet was found in Ward 8 of Phước Bình City.

Following Hiền's report, the Phước Bình Ward Police quickly verified the owner's identity as Nguyễn Thị Lê Vi, a 26-year-old resident of the same ward. Vi was contacted and successfully retrieved her wallet, which contained over 10 million Vietnamese dong (approximately $400 USD) and her personal identification documents. Vi was deeply moved by Hiền's integrity and expressed her sincere thanks to both the student and the police for their swift assistance in recovering her belongings.
