Hong Kong star Edan Lui stars in Taiwanese singer Chen Hua's new MV

Hong Kong's popular idol Edan Lui, a member of the boy band MIRROR, has traveled to Taiwan to participate in the music video for the new song "Half Sugar, No Ice." Lui is lending his star power to support Tr33, a rising singer from Hong Kong known for achieving tens of millions of streams. The collaboration also features Taiwanese singer Chen Hua, who takes on the role of the female lead in the MV, creating a narrative of a youthful love triangle centered around a hand-shaken drink shop.

The music video's storyline sees Lui and Tr33 portraying employees at a beverage shop who find themselves attracted to a regular customer, played by Chen Hua. To surprise her for her birthday, the two characters learn to make bubble tea and even a bubble tea cake. Coincidentally, the song was released on Chen Hua's birthday, adding a layer of serendipity to the project.

Chen Hua and Tr33 have a pre-existing musical connection. Chen Hua's hit song "I Want to See You in the Twilight of May" garnered over 45 million views, and Tr33's response song, "You Know You're More Beautiful Than the Twilight," has also surpassed ten million streams. This shared success led to further creative exchanges, including a "Summer Chapter" continuation of Chen Hua's song, solidifying their musical rapport.

For Tr33, collaborating with Edan Lui felt like a "five-year destiny." He recalled being a high school student when he first discovered two songs by Lui that he deeply admired. Five years later, the opportunity arose to record together in the same studio. Tr33 described Lui as a "reliable older brother" and expressed his honor at being recognized and appreciated by Lui as an emerging artist.
