Honor Colorado secures nine mayoral nominations in Misiones; Añetete wins in Ayolas

Paraguay's ruling Colorado Party's internal elections have set the stage for the upcoming municipal races, with the Honor Colorado (HC) movement securing nominations for mayor in nine of Misiones department's ten districts. The Añetete movement managed to win the nomination in Ayolas, ensuring representation for the party in that specific district.

In San Juan Bautista, the incumbent mayor José Luis Benítez of HC secured 56.5% of the party's votes, defeating Carmelo Ibarra. San Ignacio will see María Gloria Rodríguez of HC A as the candidate after she narrowly won with 39% of the vote, just ahead of Kike Caballero of HC B with 38.7%.

Other districts also saw clear victories for HC candidates. In San Miguel, Sergio Ramírez won with 53% of the vote. San Patricio's candidate, José Francisco Acosta, garnered 61.2%. Derlis Maidana secured a significant 68.52% in Santa María de Fe, while consensus candidates Ignacio Segovia in Santa Rosa and Oscar Cuenca in Santiago received overwhelming support with 99.6% and 95.4% of the votes, respectively.

The only district where HC did not prevail was Ayolas. There, José Mutti of Añetete won the mayoral nomination with 51.7% of the vote, narrowly defeating Christian Rolón of HC, who received 45%. The results indicate a strong showing for Honor Colorado across the Misiones department, with Añetete securing a key victory in Ayolas.
