The political party "Hope for Democracy" is undergoing internal upheaval following the expulsion of its former press spokesperson, Thanasis Avgerinos. Party president Maria Karystianou announced the decision, citing serious concerns over Avgerinos's conduct and public statements.

Karystianou explicitly accused Avgerinos of engaging in "divisive statements and behavior" that she believes are detrimental to the party's core principles. According to the party's leadership, Avgerinos's actions violated the fundamental rule prohibiting cooperation with established political parties, thereby undermining the movement's unity.
