A senior Iranian official has strongly refuted claims made by US President Donald Trump regarding American authority over the Strait of Hormuz. Hossein Taeb, head of the paramilitary Basij force within the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), asserted on Iranian state television that the crucial maritime corridor remains firmly under Tehran's jurisdiction and management.
