How Air Peace Aircraft Orders Strengthened Nigeria-Brazil Relationship

Air Peace's strategic orders for Embraer aircraft, beginning with 10 brand-new E195-E2 jets in 2019, have played a significant role in deepening the relationship between Nigeria and Brazil. The airline became the first launch customer for the E195-E2 in Africa, marking a key moment in bilateral aviation ties.

Further solidifying this partnership, Air Peace placed an additional order for five Embraer E175 aircraft in 2023, later converting three of these orders to the larger E195-E2 model in 2025. This leaves a firm order backlog of two E175s, reflecting the airline's ongoing need for modern aircraft to support its expansion plans.

Efe Osifo-Whiskey, spokesperson for Air Peace, stated that the arrival of the latest Embraer E175 aircraft aligns with the airline's fleet modernization and route expansion strategies. "Air Peace Limited, has welcomed its brand-new Embraer E175 aircraft to Nigeria, marking another significant milestone in its unwavering commitment to providing world-class air travel across Nigeria, the West Coast of Africa and beyond," Osifo-Whiskey said.

The newly acquired 88-seat Embraer E175, registered as 5N-CGH, landed in Lagos on July 7, 2026, after a ferry flight from Brazil. The aircraft was officially handed over by Embraer after its production. Designed for short-to-medium-haul operations, the E175 offers enhanced passenger comfort with an all 2-2 seating configuration, eliminating middle seats. It features ergonomically designed leather seats, generous legroom, spacious overhead bins, larger windows, and a quiet cabin environment.

Beyond passenger experience, the Embraer E175 is noted for its operational efficiency and environmental sustainability. Its advanced aerodynamics and fuel-efficient engines contribute to lower fuel consumption, reduced carbon emissions, and quieter operations, aligning with Air Peace's commitment to sustainable aviation while maintaining high safety standards.
