RFLD launches organisational resilience programme to equip 500 African nonprofits with free donor-ready management system

RFLD has initiated its Organisational Resilience Programme (ORP), a significant effort designed to equip 500 registered nonprofit organizations across Africa with the RFLD Management Suite. This comprehensive system, valued at US$5,000, will be provided at no cost to the participating organizations.

The program's core objective is to bolster the operational resilience of these nonprofits. It aims to help them establish the robust systems and controls that are increasingly demanded by donors, development partners, and grant-making institutions. Many organizations performing vital work struggle to secure funding primarily because they lack adequate systems for financial management, governance, safeguarding, and accountability.

John GBENAGNON, Development Director for Resource Mobilisation & Partnerships at RFLD, highlighted that numerous high-impact organizations face funding hurdles not due to the quality of their work, but because they lack the institutional frameworks to demonstrate accountability and readiness to donors. "Too many strong organizations lose funding not because their work is weak, but because they cannot show donors the systems donors test: clean financial controls, audit trails, and protected safeguarding records," GBENAGNON stated.

The RFLD Management Suite is an integrated platform that consolidates ten key operational departments, including Finance & Grants, Programmes, Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E), Human Resources, Gender, Communications, Membership, Procurement, Safeguarding & Complaints, and Governance. It incorporates advanced donor-grade financial controls, such as maker-checker approvals, budget-versus-actual grant tracking, bank reconciliation, period locking, and numbered payment vouchers. Sensitive safeguarding and gender-related records are managed through encrypted modules.

Developed with African organizations in mind, the platform is fully bilingual (English and French) and can operate entirely offline, eliminating the need for internet connectivity or server infrastructure. Participating organizations will retain full ownership and control of their data. They will also receive guided onboarding throughout August 2026 and twelve months of technical support. The program is open to registered nonprofit organizations in Africa with annual budgets between US$10,000 and US$1,000,000. Applications close on July 31, 2026.
