How to apply for FG’s Agricultural Quarantine Service recruitment

The Nigerian Federal Government has initiated a recruitment drive for the Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS), seeking to fill vacancies across Superintendent, Inspectorate, and Assistant cadres. Applications opened on July 28, 2026, and will close on August 10, 2026. Shortlisted candidates will proceed to computer-based tests and interviews later in August.

The recruitment process is free of charge and must be completed online through the official NAQS recruitment portal. Interested applicants are instructed to create an account, select their preferred cadre and position, and accurately fill out the online application form. Required credentials and supporting documents must be uploaded, and applications should be reviewed before submission. The agency emphasized that late applications or those not adhering to the procedure will be disqualified.

Vacancies are available in three main categories. The Superintendent Cadre seeks Chief Superintendent of Quarantine Care (Veterinary Doctors), Deputy Superintendent of Quarantine, and Assistant Superintendent of Quarantine II. The Inspectorate Cadre includes Inspector of Quarantine I, II, and III. The Assistant Cadre offers positions for Quarantine Assistant I, II, and III.

Educational requirements vary by position. Chief Superintendent applicants need a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Deputy Superintendent roles require a law degree or a master’s degree in a relevant field. Assistant Superintendent positions demand a minimum first degree. Inspectorate roles require an Ordinary National Diploma or Nigeria Certificate in Education, while Assistant Cadre positions need SSCE, NECO, or GCE Ordinary Level with at least five credits, including English and Mathematics. General requirements include being a Nigerian citizen, possessing a National Identification Number, being medically fit, passing a drug test, and having good character.
