How to apply for FG’s Northern Nigeria agric programme jobs

Nigeria's Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security has opened applications for 18 key positions within the National Programme Management Unit of the Value Chain for Northern Nigeria Programme. This initiative, backed by the International Fund for Agricultural Development and the French Development Agency, aims to boost incomes, enhance food security, and improve climate resilience for smallholder farmers and other value chain actors across nine northern states: Sokoto, Kebbi, Jigawa, Zamfara, Borno, Katsina, Yobe, Bauchi, and Kano.

The recruitment drive seeks professionals for roles including National Programme Coordinator, Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, Agricultural Production Specialist, and various other specialized positions in rural infrastructure, nutrition, ICT, gender inclusion, climate change, knowledge management, finance, procurement, and human resources. Most positions demand a master’s degree in a relevant field and seven to 10 years of professional experience, with specific accounting or procurement qualifications required for certain roles. Successful candidates will be offered two-year renewable contracts, contingent on annual performance evaluations, and will be based in Abuja with frequent travel to the participating states.

Interested applicants must submit 10 copies of their Expression of Interest, including a curriculum vitae and a tailored cover letter. Applications should be clearly marked and delivered to the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, via the Director of the Federal Department of Development Partners Projects at Fadama House in Wuse II, Abuja. The deadline for submission is September 6, 2026, at 12 noon. The ministry warned that falsification of personal data would lead to disqualification.
