How to Create a Llave MX Account: A Step-by-Step Guide

As the 2026-2027 school year begins, applications for Mexico’s Bienestar education scholarships are approaching a new registration period. Applicants will need a Llave MX account to complete the process.

Llave MX is the Mexican government’s free, unified digital account for accessing federal services online. It uses a person’s CURP and a personal contact method, allowing users to access different government platforms without creating separate usernames and passwords for each service.

To create an account, users must visit www.llave.gob.mx and enter their CURP. They then select the “I am not a robot” box and click “Validate CURP.” Once the CURP is validated, the site automatically displays information such as the user’s name, sex and date of birth.

Users must then enter their postal code, select their neighborhood and continue. They add a mobile phone number and may also provide an email address. Finally, they create and save a password, read and accept the privacy notice, complete the captcha and click “Finish.”

Completing the process can speed up registration for Bienestar programmes such as the Rita Cetina Scholarship. The project aims to make it easier for citizens to interact with federal agencies and reduce bureaucracy.
