Hsinchu gas explosion: Prosecutors ready for examination, victim support launched

Hsinchu prosecutors are on standby to manage the consequences of a gas explosion in Hsinchu City that resulted in two fatalities and two injuries. The Hsinchu District Prosecutors Office has mobilized resources to address the incident from multiple angles, including forensic examinations, criminal investigations, and victim support.

Chief Prosecutor Ke Yifen has directed senior prosecutors to coordinate efforts with the Hsinchu City Police Bureau and the Hsinchu branch of the Criminal Victim Protection Association. This multi-pronged approach ensures a swift and comprehensive response, prioritizing rescue efforts and the preservation of life while preparing for subsequent judicial procedures.

Specialized prosecutors are ready to conduct forensic examinations at the explosion site once it is deemed safe, adhering to the principle of immediate reporting and examination. Simultaneously, Prosecutor Lin Fengshi will lead the investigation into the cause of the accident, working alongside fire department officials and forensic experts to gather evidence and determine responsibility.

Furthermore, the Criminal Victim Protection Association is activating its "Accompanying Journey" service, offering medical assistance, legal consultation, and psychological counseling to victims and their families.
