Hsinchu hosts national 3x3 basketball finals in historic setting with star power

Hsinchu City is buzzing with energy as it hosts the national 3x3 basketball championship finals for the first time, with games taking place in a unique setting: a closed-off street in front of the historic Hsinchu State Hall.

The event, a collaboration between the Hsinchu City Government and the Chinese Taipei 3x3 Basketball Association, has drawn numerous basketball enthusiasts eager to compete and experience a different style of the sport. The competition spans various categories, including parent-child, junior high school, high school, corporate, and open divisions for both men and women, showcasing the sport's broad appeal across different age groups and backgrounds.

Adding star power to the finals are legendary figures from Taiwanese basketball. "Taiwan's Flying Man" Chen Hsin-an and former professional player Michael James Efevberha are among the notable personalities attending, lending their presence and enthusiasm to the event.

City officials highlighted that the championship represents a culmination of preliminary rounds held across different regions, with the top eight teams from each group converging in Hsinchu to vie for the national title. Beyond the main competition, the city government has organized a "Sports Culture Exhibition" within the city hall lobby. Outdoor areas feature "Parent-Child Slam Dunk Experience Zones" and "Pickleball Experience Zones," inviting citizens to engage with sports and soak in the vibrant atmosphere of the 3x3 basketball tournament while witnessing top-tier teams battle it out.
