HTV Hosts 'Green Happiness' Event for Environmental Awareness and Family Values

Ho Chi Minh City Television (HTV) hosted a community event titled 'Green Happiness - For a Green Future' on July 10, 2026. The initiative coincided with Environment Action Month and the 25th anniversary of Vietnam Family Day, aiming to spread the message that every family is a nucleus for a green lifestyle.

The event encouraged positive environmental actions, highlighting how small daily efforts can lead to significant positive changes for the environment and community. It also celebrated the values of Vietnamese families, promoting civilized living, resource conservation, environmental protection, and sustainable development. For HTV employees and their children, it served as a summer recreational activity, strengthening bonds between families and the workplace.

A central feature was the "Green Happiness" competition, where families engaged in three rounds: "Green Creation" using recycled materials, "Green Kitchen" focusing on sustainable cooking with clean ingredients and minimal waste, and "Skillful Green Habits" addressing real-life environmental scenarios. The competition aimed to showcase creativity, practical solutions, and inspirational approaches to environmental protection.

Beyond the competition, the event offered interactive experiences, including booths for exchanging trash for gifts, showcasing green products, and environmental education games. These activities were designed to instill environmental consciousness in children through creative play. The event also included a pledge ceremony where young representatives committed to green living, symbolizing a collective determination for a sustainable future.

The "Green Happiness" competition concluded with an awards ceremony, recognizing families for their innovative ideas, teamwork, and practical environmental solutions, with a total prize pool of 24 million Vietnamese Dong.
