Vietnam Security Force Marks 80 Years Protecting the Nation

Hanoi, Vietnam – A series of events commemorating the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's People's Security Force kicked off in Hanoi on July 9. The Ministry of Public Security, in coordination with the Hanoi People's Committee, organized the opening ceremony for the "Peaceful Homeland" activities, marking eight decades since the force's traditional day on July 12, 1946.

Ingenious, creative, unafraid of sacrifice and hardship, bravely fighting, achieving many glorious victories, contributing greatly to maintaining national security, protecting the Party, the State, the people, and the socialist regime.

Lieutenant General Phạm Thế Tùng, Deputy Minister of Public Security, presided over the opening. He emphasized the security force's unwavering loyalty to the Party, State, and people throughout its 80-year history. Tùng described the force as embodying the principle "as long as the Party exists, we exist," dedicating itself to the nation's interests and the people's well-being.

"Ingenious, creative, unafraid of sacrifice and hardship, bravely fighting, achieving many glorious victories, contributing greatly to maintaining national security, protecting the Party, the State, the people, and the socialist regime," Tùng stated, reflecting on the force's achievements. He noted that these successes are a testament to the "utmost loyalty to the country, utmost filial piety to the people," and the revolutionary spirit of its personnel.

The commemorative events, running until July 12, include exhibitions and a gala. These activities aim to educate the public, especially the youth, about the security force's contributions and sacrifices. Tùng expressed hope that these events will inspire pride and encourage public support for the police in safeguarding national peace and security. Similar events have previously been held in Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City.
