Huawei unveils 18-inch foldable laptop with AI features

Huawei has introduced its latest foldable laptop, the MateBook Fold Ultimate Design 2026, boasting a massive 18-inch dual-layer OLED display. This screen, occupying 92% of the front panel and supporting Full HD+ resolution, is a key technological highlight. The laptop features a large "waterdrop hinge" made with a liquid metal alloy, allowing it to be fixed in various orientations, including landscape, portrait, and fully flat. The design is further enhanced by an eco-leather finish and an integrated rear stand.

Running on HarmonyOS 6.1, the MateBook Fold Ultimate Design 2026 integrates a suite of AI-powered features. Users can interact with an on-screen keyboard, a virtual touchpad, and utilize a split-screen mode. The device is powered by Huawei's proprietary Kirin X90 Plus processor, aiming to deliver robust performance. Weighing just 1.16 kilograms and equipped with a 6,400 mAh battery, it balances portability with endurance.

The new Huawei laptop enters the market in three distinct configurations. The base model, featuring 24GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, is priced at $3,700. A step up, with 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, costs approximately $4,000. The top-tier version, offering 32GB of RAM and 2TB of storage, is available for around $4,442.
