Hundreds of Weapons, Drugs Found at Jakarta Private School; Classes Move Online

Authorities are conducting a crime scene investigation at a private school in Pondok Pinang, South Jakarta, following the discovery of a large cache of weapons and suspected narcotics. The findings have prompted the temporary shift of all classes to remote learning.

Police confirmed the discovery of 995 firearms, including airsoft guns, along with ammunition, weapon accessories, bullet-making equipment, and suspected illegal substances like methamphetamine and marijuana. The items were found in a room previously used by the school's former foundation head, identified by the initial IWD.

As a result of the investigation, the South Jakarta Education Sub-Department announced that in-person classes would be suspended from Monday to Friday, with students participating in distance learning. The school serves hundreds of students across elementary, junior high, and senior high levels.

The investigation, which began after a public report on July 15, involves a joint team from Inafis, Puslabfor, the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI), and the Jakarta Education Agency. The police have initiated a preliminary investigation based on the findings.
