Hungarian PM proposes chess champion Judit Polgar as interim president

Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar has put forward an unconventional proposal: naming chess grandmaster Judit Polgar as the country's interim president. This suggestion comes in the wake of President Tamas Sullyok's resignation, prompted by the signing of a constitutional amendment that concluded his tenure.

He described the presidential role not as a mere job, but as the highest service to the country. Polgar, he believes, embodies the qualities necessary to represent all Hungarians during this transitional phase until a new constitution is adopted.
