Hungary: Psychedelic Festival Scaled Back After Two Deaths

Organizers of the Ozora Festival, one of Europe's largest psychedelic trance gatherings held in Hungary, have announced the premature end of all musical performances. The decision comes after two festival-goers died during the event, prompting a significant reduction in the scheduled program.

The first incident involved a 45-year-old American man who fell to his death from one of the decorative structures surrounding the main stage. Hungarian police and festival organizers suspect the fall was a deliberate act of suicide. The tragic event cast a somber shadow over the festival, which was nearing its final day.

Earlier on the same day, a 39-year-old Hungarian woman suffered a medical emergency, which is believed to have been caused by the extreme heat. Despite resuscitation attempts, she could not be saved. Hungary has been under its highest heat alert level, with temperatures soaring to around 40°C (104°F) over the weekend, exacerbating health risks for attendees.
