Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has conveyed his deep gratitude to Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the crucial support provided in the reconstruction efforts in Karabakh. Aliyev specifically mentioned the Children's Creative Center in Fuzuli, which is named after the prominent Kazakh figure Kurmangazy, and noted its inauguration alongside President Tokayev.

"I am very grateful to President Tokayev for his assistance in rebuilding Karabakh. The Children's Creative Center in Fuzuli is named after the great son of the Kazakh people, Kurmangazy. Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich and I inaugurated this center together, and I am deeply thankful for such support from our brotherly nation in the restoration of the liberated territories," Aliyev stated.

President Aliyev emphasized the active interaction between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, both situated on the Caspian coast, underscoring that regional projects are contingent on such cooperation. He highlighted ongoing efforts to expand port infrastructure in both countries and mentioned a joint cooperation format involving Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey. Discussions within this framework focus on critical issues such as tariffs, digitalization, and customs administration simplification.

Further underscoring the robust bilateral ties, Aliyev recalled the 2024 agreement signed with the presidents of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to construct an energy cable along the Caspian seabed, with a feasibility study currently underway. Discussions are also progressing on building a fiber-optic cable with Kazakhstan, which is expected to foster development in digitalization, artificial intelligence, and databases for both nations and a wider region. Aliyev also noted that certain volumes of Kazakh oil are exported via Azerbaijan, showcasing the countries' close cooperation in the region. He also shared his positive impressions from a recent visit to the historic city of Turkistan in Kazakhstan, admiring the preservation of its historical heritage.
